Enchantments

How to enchant your gear, which bench you need, and how it differs from sockets.

What they are

Enchantments apply straight onto the piece, stay with it and take no slot. They are the simplest way to raise a weapon or armour's performance without depending on socket materials.

Enchantments versus sockets

When investing in a high-level piece, the usual order is to enchant it first and keep the sockets for fine tuning.

  • An enchantment lives on the piece; a socket lives in one of its slots.
  • Sockets can be swapped and reforged; enchantments are more permanent.
  • They stack: the same piece can be both enchanted and socketed.
